New Product Ideas
For 30 years, Neotech has taken pride in bringing cutting-edge products to market.
Like many medical professionals, our medical director and co-founder, Dr. Arnold Heyman, developed many products with varying success during his years of practice. As a result, we vow to treat all inventors fairly and with respect.
At Neotech, we assist inventors with product development. We pride ourselves on building positive working relationships and steadily moving through the process. All at no cost to you.

Working with Neotech
Dr. Arnold Heyman, M.D. has experienced the good and the bad of commercializing his ideas. He and his partners founded Neotech Products to ensure that Neotech would be a positive light for clinical inventors to aid in the advancement of neonatal and pediatric care.
Neotech has worked with parents and clinicians all over the world to develop new product ideas. Including the Neotech RAM Cannula®, NeoLead® ECG Electrodes, the NeoGlo® Transilluminators, the Neotech ChinStrap™, and many more.
Neotech has paid millions of dollars in royalties through the years. Unlike some companies, Neotech never requires a dime from inventors. Instead, we invest in your idea and work with you to make it a reality. Our program is designed to enter at whatever phase of development you are in. From concept to filing for regulatory compliance.
Bringing a new idea to market can be a difficult path to follow. Neotech makes it simple for you. We take care of everything. From concept design to prototyping. From market evaluation to registering with the FDA. We work to ensure that new products meet ISO standards for the European Union (EU) market. We work with Regulatory Affairs in several countries to help make your products a world-wide success.
We develop and manufacture medical devices. It’s what we do. It’s what we know. It’s who we are.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to work with Neotech?
Nothing. If we choose to develop your idea, there is no cost to you.
Do I need to have a patent on my idea already?
No, we will file for a provisional patent once we have design concepts. Your name would be included on the provisional patent.
Do I need a non-disclosure agreement in place before sharing my idea?
No. Neotech does not sign non-disclosure agreements for ideas. However, we ask you to complete a new product submission form which serves as a record of you showing your idea to Neotech.
Part of my employment agreement is that my employer has rights to my inventions. How does this work?
We can work with you and your employer to help draft a mutually-satisfactory agreement. Sometimes employer-employee agreements might entitle your employer to part of your royalty, but we will be here to help the process along the way.
I brought an idea to you before, but you passed on it. Do you pass on most ideas?
We’re glad you’re back! We have always said where there is one idea there are usually 10 more. While we would love to bring every idea to market, some might not make sense financially or generate positive market feedback for us to move forward.
Neotech has a diverse clinical team that helps us to determine the market need. We have learned over the years that medicine is practiced very differently in different parts of the country and the world. Garnering market feedback is important in our decision process.
Do all ideas that Neotech accepts make it to market?
Unfortunately, not all new product ideas make it to market. During the development process, we may discover that manufacturing a product may be cost-prohibitive or that the market need is not as prevalent as initially thought.
If this happens, your agreement with Neotech will be nullified and you will be free to take your idea elsewhere. We’ll even try to connect you with other manufacturers.
I have an idea, but it doesn’t look like you are manufacturing anything like it. What if my idea is not right for Neotech?
Our specialty is disposable plastics and adhesives for neonatal and pediatric care. If you have an idea that isn’t quite right for Neotech, we will try to help you with introductions to other manufacturers that might specialize in what you are trying to achieve.
I have an idea to make a Neotech product better. How does that work?
We love to receive feedback for product improvements. We appreciate all ideas that may help to improve care for the patients or make providing care easier for the clinicians. Unfortunately, since those products are already on the market, product improvement ideas are not eligible for royalties.
I’m not a clinician. Can I still submit an idea to Neotech?
Absolutely. Neotech also works with parents and other caregivers to bring new medical devices to market.
How long will I get paid royalties?
Our standard agreement pays royalties for the life of the patent or five years if no patent is issued.
Testimonials
I have worked with Neotech Products for 28 years! Neotech is a great company to work with on intellectual property. They have been super in making sure I get my royalties in full and on time. I rate them very high on honesty and ethics.
The product development folks make a great team to work with on new ideas and inventions. Neotech actually cares about the babies and the company’s role in saving precious little lives. The company has grown over the years, but it keeps the “family” feel of a smaller company.
I would work with Neotech Products again on an idea or invention in a heartbeat!

I attended a Neotech conference a while back. I actually envisioned some ideas while some of the speakers were speaking. Neotech did a presentation that briefly discussed being an inventor. I kept thinking I should reach out about some of my ideas.
Since that time I had won the Innovator award at work twice, for ideas, which my employer benefitted from. It took me awhile, but I finally reached out to Neotech and had a meeting with them regarding some of my ideas. From the time I walked into Neotech, until current day, they, and especially the product development team, always have made me feel important and special. They always listen to my input and take my ideas into consideration before moving forward.
I highly recommend teaming with Neotech for Neonate and Pediatric product development to realize your ideas and dreams. They are a trustworthy company and their products are made in the USA. I am proud to be associated with a company like this.

I submitted an idea [to Neotech] for a single-patient LED transilluminator, which became a two products in a record time of two years! First the original NeoGlo® Transilluminator is a reusable multi-patient device. Followed by NeoGlo Disposable, a single-patient device.
There was impressive teamwork with Neotech. I was an active part of the design process and my suggestions were accepted and translated into features of the product. I received all updates and was requested to give my opinion on ideas [from others] for the development of the product.
The experience was fantastic, and the feeling of having my idea converted into a medical device was very gratifying.
I have additional ideas and I look forward to repeating the experience.
Thanks to all the staff on Neotech; a wonderful family.
